I visited on the Monday before Valentines day, I sat at the bar. I had a strawberry banana cocktail with strawberry gin, it was made beautifully and tasted delicious! They even made cute hearts on the top of my drink. The original drink had egg in it, I am vegan and they were able to do it with a substitute vegan foam! Thank you guys! Service was fast and friendly. The decor of the modernist is beautiful and well thought out. I came in early around 530 or so. It started to get busy once I left around 730ish. I definitely will be back, delicious cocktails!

Festive, fun, cozy, awesome - what a perfect place to spend my birthday! Love this place every time we go and yesterday was no different. We even bought adorable club glasses (they have so many cute ones to choose from!) to enjoy our at home holiday beverages. A definite place to stop and we even went next door to the taco truck and grabbed a tasty selection of tacos and burritos to share. We had an awesome time and they could not have been nicer! We will be back soon - our happy place to celebrate milestones or just a Sunday evening!!

I stopped in for the first time last night with a friend before going to the Grizzlies game. I was really delighted by the extensive, creative menu, the delicious drinks, and especially the very friendly service and attention from the staff. (I've been to a place in Tower with a really snotty bartender and I have zero desire to return there.) My friend and I will definitely be back, as there is much on the menu we are excited to try. Lovely decor and atmosphere in a cozy spot, bringing something special to downtown Fresno. Great job, Modernist!

Went for cocktails. LOVE this place! No TVs, which is so refreshing. Great place to relax with a cocktail. These are true craft cocktails, not your standard rum & Coke. Great atmosphere and music. The staff is amazing! Love Hilary, Yoli & Denver!!!

First impression when arriving was the place small and seems like low capacity, but the space is well decorated and inviting. When you actually get inside you see that it is a little bigger with the lounge in the rear. When entering you’re Acknowledged and greeted, I went on a Wednesday so it wasn’t busy. Ryan immediately explain the menu in detail and made some suggestions. I had the “cloak and dagger” and a Margarita, both were delicious and Ryan assured me if I didn’t like it then he could whip something else up for me. I enjoyed both of them. The size of the drinks were on the smaller side of considering they start around 10, but definitely worth the experience! The ambience is great! And the lounge is chill I can see why the place reaches capacity so quick. The bathroom situation is a little percular, but accommodating Anyways I think it’s a cool place to have a cocktail or two.... If you want to drink beer maybe consider going to Full circle Brewery... All in all go check it out and support local business, especially one that increase the value of our city *Edit* 2 years later and I have change my rating to a 5 star. Time seemed to be all this upscale cocktail bar needed to grow its menu and adapt. Good job and I recommend it.

Hospitality is amazing! The bartenders are great. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the show, The drinks are fantastic. We tried about 5 cocktails. We'll definitely come back! There's not much to do around that area on thursday night, there are food trucks nearby. Pretty much everything was close.

Solid spot! Very full bar selection. As a tequila guy I had the whole Fortaleza “flight.” Great vibe overall most importantly. Super friendly bartenders, very eclectic clientele. Close to Fresno Ballpark too a nice plus.
